Pet Owners

We love our pets. They are part of our family.

But when they behave in ways that negatively affect our lives, bother our loved ones or even put others in danger, it becomes stressful, frustrating and difficult to live with them and can significantly affect and damage the bond and relationship we have with them. Behaviour problems can result from underlying fear, anxiety, stress, genetic or learned components and medical conditions and can be complex to evaluate.

Oftentimes, training alone will not solve the problem and we require a different approach.

Veterinary Behaviour Consultations

We believe that each pet is an individual with a unique behavioural history and motivations. Behaviour Consultations with Dr Katrin are thorough sessions lasting for 90-120 minutes, during which problem behaviours are identified and explored, diagnoses are made and suitable treatment plans are established.

These consultations are suitable for pets showing signs of fear, anxiety, stress or aggression. They are also suitable for inappropriate or unwanted toileting behaviours, age related behaviour changes or compulsive, destructive, stereotypical or repetitive behaviour patterns such as leg chewing, tail chasing and more.

So, how does it work?

The first step is to book a virtual, online Veterinary Behaviour Consultation with Dr Katrin. Consultations usually last for around 2 hours. This provides enough time to gather a comprehensive history of your pet’s behaviour (supported by a questionnaire and videos of your pet and home environment), discuss your concerns and goals in detail and then arrive at a diagnosis and develop a tailor-made and achievable treatment plan together.

Our treatment methods are based on scientific evidence and research and consist of a number of different pillars that all work together to help facilitate and achieve the desired outcome.

Your pet will never be subjected to methods that include punishment, startling, hurting, scaring or shocking them. We can alleviate undesirable behaviours in pets whilst treating them with the kindness, gentleness, respect and admiration they deserve.

If medical underlying causes are suspected, these can be addressed immediately and suitable further diagnostics or medical treatment will be recommended.
